With only a couple of exceptions -- and, yes, I mean you, Danny Gokey and your didn't-blow-me-away-but-it-was-still-OK-for-me-for-you rendition of Hero, and you, Alexis Grace, even though your voice is thin and your hair and alabaster skin and overall perk will likely be working my last nerve within two weeks -- every single performance was just oozing, nay DRIPPING, with mediocrity.
So, I ask you. No, I implore you, Idol Contestants. For the love of all that is right and holy: GET. IT. TOGETHER.

You're back! I have so much to say!!!
Okay, I agree with you. Mediocrity was absolutely the highest level achieved. As much as I like Danny and his voice, he won't win my vote in the long run if he keeps picking crap like Mariah Carey songs. Oh. My. God. What is worse? Listening to a Mariah Carey song, or listening to Tatiana laugh? That's a toss up.
Alexis doesn't even register on my radar. I can take or leave her (I must interject here that I can definitely leave her pasty legs--and this coming from another pale white sister. I pray she sticks with jeans for the remainder of the show.)
Everyone else did basically, as Melissa writes, suck. Thankfully, we are pretty well assured that Casey Carlson will not be selected as a wild card by the judges. What she did to Every Little Thing... was just wrong. I'll disagree with Kara, though, that Police songs should be considered untouchable. If one can, dare I say, *sing*, then one can attempt anything. Let's refer to DC's rendition of Billie Jean here. I also need to add that while I love me some Police, Sting Solo bores me to tears.
I definitely think that Anoop will be selected in a wild card slot. Idol producers are probably desperate for his buzz and early fan base. We shall see!
Yay! Flo's back on the Idol blogging train. I'm working a little something something to add to this here blog in the near future. Time has been eluding me what with the Idol and Dollhouse blogging and the little man who decided that this was the week he was going to become insanely mobile.
Anyway, I was bored out of my mind on Tuesday. I acknowledge Alexis has some talent, but I just couldn't care less about her. I liked Danny in the beginning, but I no longer want to hear about the wife. Lots of people have tragedy in their lives, and it's downright ugly of the producers (and to some extent Danny and his family members) to keep using this story as the pinnacle of bad things. It's starting to look opportunistic on everyone's part.
Me sad about Anoop. And also disappointed by his choice of song this week.
I care even less about the roughneck who ate Chris O'Donnell than I do about Alexis.
I miss the days of Taylor and Pickler and Ace and Elliott.
And this is Julie, not John.
ROFL...I agree to the fullest!! They are picking songs that they "like" rather than songs that ONE they can sing and TWO compliment their voices!!
There are a lot of great voices, but very little talent this season.
I also think Anoop or Ricky deserved that third spot over Michael Sarver!! I like Mike, but he was not the top 3 of those performances that night!!
